The property

Nestled neatly in the little village of Lea is Bronte Kingfisher – a 2-bed terraced cottage with bundles of charm.

With a king and two singles, the cottage sleeps four people. Five if you count the sofa. And six if you count the living room floor.

As a mid-terraced cottage, it’s modest in size – but it’s far from small. And whatever it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in character.

The kitchen has everything you’d expect any kitchen to have – an oven with an electric hob (so you can’t accidentally burn the place down), a washing machine, a microwave, a kettle and a toaster.

It’s even got a leisure room out back – fully equipped with a hot tub, a pool table, and a seating area you can use as a second lounge.

Guests also have access to a landscaped back garden, complete with a patio, a luscious lawn, and a seating area for al fresco dining.

Dogs are welcome at Bronte Kingfisher, as long as they bring well behaved humans with them.

The area

When it comes to surroundings, you’ve got the best views in the world right on your doorstep: the English countryside.

Kayak along with Wye Valley River, ride the Dean Forest railway, and trek the trails of Malvern Hills that stretch as far as your legs will take you.

Other popular attractions that are nearby include Clearwell Caves, Hopewell Colliery, and the ancient forest of Puzzlewood.

You don’t have to go far to wet your whistle. The local pub is only a few dozen footsteps away – serving food and drink till 10pm most nights. 

A little further down the road is the village shop that stocks all the essentials you could need – and all the things you might have forgot to bring.

Further afield is the market town of Ross-on-Wye, and further than that there’s the outstanding cathedral cities of Hereford and Gloucester.
