Bronte Kingfisher

The property

Nestled neatly in the little village of Lea is Bronte Kingfisher – a 2-bed terraced cottage with bundles of charm.

With a king and two singles, the cottage sleeps four people. Five if you count the sofa. And six if you count the living room floor.

As a mid-terraced cottage, it’s modest in size – but it’s far from small. And whatever it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in character.

The kitchen has everything you’d expect any kitchen to have – an oven with an electric hob (so you can’t accidentally burn the place down), a washing machine, a microwave, a kettle and a toaster.

It’s even got a leisure room out back – fully equipped with a hot tub, a pool table, and a seating area you can use as a second lounge.

Guests also have access to a landscaped back garden, complete with a patio, a luscious lawn, and a seating area for al fresco dining.

Dogs are welcome at Bronte Kingfisher, as long as they bring well behaved humans with them.

You don’t have to go far to wet your whistle. The local pub is only a few dozen footsteps away – serving food and drink till 10pm most nights.

A little further down the road is the village shop that stocks all the essentials you could need – and all the things you might have forgot to bring.

Further afield is the market town of Ross-on-Wye, and further than that there’s the outstanding cathedral cities of Hereford and Gloucester.

Bronte Owl

The property

Located in the heart of Lea village is Bronte Owl – a cosy 3-bedroom cottage that’s got everything you need for an escape to the country.

With a king-size bed, a double bed, and two single beds, Bronte Owl comfortably sleeps six people in its surprisingly spacious bedrooms.

Guests have been known to fight over who gets the room with the balcony. With French doors open out onto sprawling views of the countryside, it’s no surprise.

Downstairs, there’s enough room for everyone – a large living area, a dining area, a toilet, and a kitchen with all the appliances you could need.

Outside is a summerhouse, where guests can escape, relax and unwind – listening to the sounds of the countryside.

Note to all guests: we do allow pets in our cottages, but we don’t allow smoking. And we definitely don’t allow smoking pets.

With all of this in mind, the only reservation you should have – is a booking.

Orchard Lea

The property

Traditional on the outside and modern on the inside, there aren’t many cottages that strike the right balance between both. But Orchard Lea is one of them.

It’s a cottage that’s as big in size as it is in character. Because if there’s one thing you’re not short of, it space. There’s bucket loads of it.

4 big bedrooms, a roomy kitchen-diner and a large living area combine to make the cottage ideal for bigger families and large groups of friends.

In the annexe, guests can enjoy unfettered access to a huge hot tub, and outdoor garden seating that overlooks the spectacular landscape.

This cottage comes with more than five stars – venture into the garden on a clear night, look up, and you’ll find thousands of them dotted across the sky.

And while you won’t get towels folded into fancy animal shapes, you will get an experience that gives you value for money.

That, we can promise.
